Job Description:
- Teach all science disciplines with emphasis on physics to eager young minds.
- Instill in students a love for science.
- Open students' hearts, minds, and souls to all that is good, beautiful, and true through the teaching of science.
- Use creative and varied pedagogical techniques to create a fun, ordered, and fruitful learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with the instructional leader and members of the Science department to leverage best practices and build a passion for science at the school.
- Participate in other co-curricular activities.
- Serve as a faculty mentor to one of FGR's House Groups.
- Be ready to support the mission of the school with other duties as assigned.
- And naturally, prepare lesson plans; take attendance; give assignments and tests; grade student participation and performance; discipline students; and meet with students and parents as needed to discuss any issues.
Necessary Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's in science and DA, DC, DE, DI, or DX Certification; M.A. in Science, Education, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years' experience teaching science at the high school level preferred.
- Proven ability to manage a classroom of 20+ students.
- Skilled at developing and delivering lesson plans that engage students and lead to high academic achievement.
- Passionate about forming intentional disciples of Jesus Christ.
